Rogue River rafting trips: the area that is noted for Upper Rogue River rafting is the runs from Shady Cove to Gold Hill. The Rogue River runs over gravel bars and bedrock for about 30 miles here with numerous access points to launch. Most all Upper Rogue River rafting runs can be made in 2 to 4 hours. Shuttle service and Rafting Rentals are available in Shady Cove and Gold Hill. Rapids are rated rafting class 1 to class 3, good amount of wildlife and nice scenery. Good family Oregon rafting fun with time left in the day for evening plans.

Rogue River Rafting in this area is one of the best areas for a family day rafting trip. Middle Rogue River Rafting runs are from Gold Hill to Galice. Day rafting trips will run 6 to 15 miles per day with several deep and scenic Canyons. A Oregon Whitewater Rafting trip to remember can be done in a day here. Summer rafting water temperatures will be in the mid to low 70’s with air temperatures of near 90 degrees.

Rogue River Canyon Whitewater Rafting

The most famous of the Oregon Whitewater Rafting opportunities is found in the Rogue River Canyon a 47 mile road-less area which transverses the Rogue River Wilderness area. Trips here are mostly guided and outfitted by very historic Rogue River Outfitters. These rafting trips are generally 3 days in length with either camping on gravel bars at the rivers edge with your outfitters cooking meals or staying at historical Rogue River Canyon Lodges.

Oregon rafting guides are permitted by the BLM and USFS to provide Umpqua River rafting trips to the public. Best months for the North Umpqua River are May, June and into July, depending on weather.
