The Lower Rogue River area includes the beaches and ocean around Gold Beach and up River 37 miles to Foster Bar where basically the road ends following the river. Above this point it is in the Rogue River Canyon and the Wild and Scenic section of the river. He most of the travel is downriver by float boats or Tour Boats visiting upriver lodges.
The Lower Rogue River is noted for its great Salmon and Steelhead fishing as well as the Rogue River Mailboats and Jerry’s Whitewater Tour Boat rides. The Rogue River tour boats can travel as far as 52 miles upriver from Gold Beach before being stopped at the hazard of Blossom Bar rapids.
