Coos Bay, Oregon – Coos River Estuary area is the Oregon Coasts largest population center with about 35,000 people in several small towns, North Bend, Charleston, Empire and Lakeside.
The Old Mill Casio on Hwy 101 with it’s big RV Park and Hotel is a big attraction. Boardwalks, seaplane rides and a railway museum to go along with the huge saltwater estuary and the south end of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area are major attractions.
Coos Bay, Oregon – Coos River Estuary is very good fishing for King Salmon in the fall. In the ocean big fishing attractions are Albacore and Halibut fishing charters as well as bottom fishing trips. Crabbing in the Charleston and Empire areas is fantastic. Great mud flats for clam digging on minus tides which occur about every other week.
